RF and Microwave modules benefit from the short connection path available with Z-Axis Elastomeric Connectors.
A test report with measurement data is available where the performance of a 2.5mm Z-Fill connector was tested to 1GHz. In the report summary, there are recommendations for board layout changes to push satisfactory performance beyond 10GHz.

Microstrip transmission lines can be tuned with Z-Axis Connectors as a system to yield low loss performance. Ground planes can be included too.
Deep-Well Wire Bonds / Deep Dive Wire Bonds may also be replaced by our connectors. Please follow this email thread which testifies to the possibilities for using our miniature electronic connectors and provides a graph of RF performance vs. Frequency in a test fixture. (The test fixture is admittedly un-optimized.)
Optically clear silicone can also be considered for combined connections of fiber optic and electronic signals. Holes can be punched or molded into the connectors.
The illustration above demonstrates the possibility for loop tuning flat wire ribbon bond-like contacts to RF traces of Microwave Modules. Z-Axis Miniature Connectors can be adjusted for loop height, silicone dielectric thickness, pad pitch, metallurgy, and conductive trace size. RF, Power, and Logic signals can be connected with the same connector element, or extra fine traces .002" wide on .004" centers (0.05mm/0.1mm) can be employed.
We are open to experimentation and ask for the assistance of the high-speed circuit designer to specify a connector to build. We know of at least one designer that has gone from a cubicle to a corner office by first suggesting our connectors!
