The original use of elastomeric connectors was to connect LCD displays to printed circuit boards. Z-Carbon products are made of alternating layers of conductive carbon filled silicone and insulating silicone to make multiple contacts against the ITO of LCD glass.
Z-Carbon connectors are the lowest cost elements of the elastomeric connector family.
They are available as a solid strip or with foam or soft silicone insulation on one or both sides.
