An elastomeric connector is a type of electrical connector that uses a rubber or silicone-based material to provide both electrical and mechanical connections between two components.
Elastomeric connectors are often used in situations where there is a need for a flexible, reliable connection that can accommodate minor misalignments, vibrations, and thermal expansion. The elastomeric connector typically consists of a conductive material, such as carbon or silver, embedded in a rubber or silicone-based material. Z-Fill Connector Elements are made of tightly spaced wire filaments formed in a C or U-shape around a silicone core which, when compressed, create a low resistance electrical contact.
Z-Con assemblies combine flexible contact strips with plastic housings to align with substrate requirements.
